Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights Top Ten Winners Blog Hop Sympathy Theme

Welcome to my blog My name is Donna Gray & I live in a small country town in the Northern Rivers area of NSW Australia.
In September I participated in Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights event

The Theme for this highlight was a Sympathy Card which is not an easy card to make but the thought of how a card like this can offer comfort for someone who is going through such a sad time in their lives losing a loved one helps you create such a card.
My go to stamp set had to be the Tranquil Tulips Hostess Stamp set to create this card as they are such beautiful flowers to make an elegant card I try to keep Sympathy cards quite simple but elegant at the same time.
This is the card that I entered into the International Highlights event which if you voted for me you will remember seeing my card

So once again I was lucky to be voted in the top ten winners to participate in this wonderful blog hop alongside all of the other 9 talented crafters who I must say have so much creativity.
So as a added extra I have made two more sympathy cards
With this card once again I went for a more simple elegant look Using our lovely Bermuda Bay Card Stock as the base Followed by a layer of crumb cake then my whisper white layer that I have stamped the lovely flower spray from the Thoughts & Prayers Set To stamp the With sympathy I used the Flourishing Phrases Set Two of my go to stamp sets for special occasions & very simple Sympathy cards.
I then decided I would make a more male themed Sympathy card for some gentlemen that have had their partner pass away as my flower sympathy cards are sometime to feminine to give to a male recipient
So out of all my stamp sets I went back to one of the most favourite stamp sets that Stampin Up! have made the Lovely as a Tree Stamp set I tend to use this set a lot for male themed cards & let us not forget it is a lovely set for a snowy Christmas card also.

For more examples of my work please feel free to jump over to my website www.stampingwithdonnag.com & go to the gallery section to see more photo's of my projects
I also offer online card classes for people that live in Australia It is a great new way of doing a card class with me in the comfort of your own home for more details of my

You are going to love this Sponged Embossed Card using our new Lovely Floral Deep Impressions Embossing Folder..... This deep impressions embossing folder is to die for I so so love that you can do so many different things with it. I have enjoyed using either the embossed side or the debossed side. You can sponge it with daubers Ink it directly in the embossing folder & you can even use a sponge Brayer to get several different looks depending on what side of the embossed image you use So many uses I am sure you will not get tired of using this folder.... I have used a combination of The New In Colour Grapefruit Grove & Old Olive  with our Sponge Daubers to colour the lovely floral embossed image Make sure you don't have too much ink on your daubers as you only want a hint of colour on your embossed image This is a deep impressions embossing folder so remember to only use your base plate & 1 cutting pad to put your folder through the Big Shot Machine

Global Stamping Friends August Kids Card Blog Hop With Donna Gray Stampin Up!Australia

August Global Stamping Friends Kids Card Blog Hop With Donna Gray Stampin Up!(r) NSW Australia!!! Welcome to another Global Friends Blog Hop!You are currently visiting Donna Gray's Blog I live in the Northern Rivers NSW Australia in a small suburb called Goonellabah. I am so excited to take part in this blog hop as it is my first ever blog hop I am new to blogging but I am loving sharing all my crafting ideas with like minded people. The Theme of this blog hop was to design a child's card which I tend to struggle with. So I set upon the task of designing a children's card. I wanted it to be fun and colourful. Something that would really catch the child's eye within seconds so I decided to use the Cookie Cutter Christmas Bundle from Stampin Up!  The cookie cutter punch made making my little teddy's easier & quick to construct I used a combination of The new in Colours Lemon Lime Twist Berry Burst also combined with some of our other card stoc
